Impact of covid 19 on college admission and enrolment

Introduction:

Many standardized tests like the SAT and ACT were cancelled and conducted under different conditions due to health and safety concerns. This led many colleges to adopt test-optional or test-flexible admissions policies,where students could choose whether to submit test scores as their part of application.

Gap in pursuing:

With campuses closed and travel restricted colleges swiftly transitioned to virtual admissions processes. Campus tours,information sessions and interview moved online,allowing prospective students to consider taking classes from their home countries 

  Fluctuations in enrollment:

Colleges experienced fluctuations in enrollment as students plan changed due to shifting circumstances. Some institutions saw unexpected increases in enrollment as students sought stability and continued education,while others grappled with lower numbers  due to various factors, including financial constraints.

Additional challenges:

Students faced additional challenges,including travel restrictions,visa issues, and concerns about studying abroad during pandemic. Some students might have deferred their plans or opted for online classes on their home country 

Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic reshaped the traditional method of college admission and enrollment  landscape in ways no one could have anticipated for colleges
